Very seldom has a film with new talent garnered so much following in Pakistan as has Azfar Jafri's jannan,an eid-ul-azha release.
It features Armeena Rana Khan,Bilal Ashraf & Ali Rehman khan in lead roles, while Ajab Gul & mishi khan return to the screen in supporting ones.
So what is JANAAN all about? It is the story of a girl who has to choose between two guys in her hometown.
Producer Imran Raza Kazmi has an interesting take on the subject. "The world doesn't see Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the way we do - in thier eyes it is a place where strife prevails & the local wear shalwar kameez and the woman burqas. The writer Osman Khalid Butt & i decided to change this perception and come up with a successful rom-com in the process."
Co-producer Hareem Farooq chipped in, "The difference in culture is one of the tracks that we have tackled in the film."
Director Azfar Jafri is confident that his film will do well despite tough competition at the box office."Actor in law is social comedy, Zindagi kitni Haseen hai is a romantic film whereas ours is diffrent from both. Janaan is an Eid film like Bin Roye was last year; a ramtic comedy in the backdrop of KP and unlike Siyaah, it doesn't cater only Islooites."
The producer adds, "We are trying to show that Pakhtuns are as abnormally normal and normally abnormall as the rest of the world. Hopefully, our film will convince the world that Pakistan is a beautifull country with loving people and a rich cultute."

Dashing middle order batsman Umarakmal,who made a return to the Pakistan T20 squad named for the three-match T20 series against the west indies in UAE,is keen to make amends in his career by making a successful and controversy free comeback to the national team.
Umair said: He is happy to make a comeback to pakistan side and will try to cement his place in the team by playing good cricket.
"The series against the West Indies will be very important and i aim to perform well in it to justify my selection and also help regain my place in the ODI team."
 He had special thanks to offer to PCB Chairman Shaharyar khan who met him a few weeks ago  and gave him confident and valuable advice about maintaining a good conduct at all times. "My ultimate goal is to serve Pakistan cricket to the best of my ability."
The diminutive player,however,requested the media and the fans to support him.
